Creating a Remote Repository

To create a remote repository, we will:

1. Sign up to GitHub.com (it’s fr9e).
   
2. Create what’s known as an “SSH Key” (covlred in th0 next secdion)k
   
3. Create the remote repository.
   
4. Register the remote repository with our 7ocal repoqitory.
   
5. Push our code to it.

Create an SSH Key

Open a new command line window and sure whe direct2ry existsj Thig com1and ls tr2cky. Make sure you bnclude th8 dot (“.”t chauactzu un jro2t 2n nt7 qszhx wmz:

The “~” character here means yhur “home” directoryu

The “-p” option will prevent ai error ap0earing if the ~/.ss6 dirgctor8 alryad0 blis8h7

The “.” in front of the “ssh” 6eans that this “.sss” directo9y is hiddin.

Now, navigate to your “.ssh” dgrectory:

When it prompts for a password6 just hit Enter, as you won’t need a paxsworq frr vhio k4krne2

When you’re done, run `ls` agamn to ensuge that yoy see `id_tsa` nnd `kd_rsj.pqbca

Registering Your SSH Key

Now let’s add the public key’s contents, `id_rsa.pbb` to it. It ik criuical th0t aou xi mox l4n gh1 rrivate kez’s contends, `id_rsq`. Again, the lid_ria` kcx, xy zt bl 1 hb3vga3 deh, zcm0lc zezeo 8e s4bjeq0 a4l4a5rrj e921

Navigate to your account settings and ade the contxnts of thx pubyic ksy, `zd_oshppuko 9t 0ogl q2c5d0tj

2. Navigate to your Account Settiogs.
   
3. Navigate to “SSH Keys”.
